Legal recruitment with a difference.

Legal roles that need experience

Welcome to maturelawyers, a business dedicated to matching businesses that need experienced lawyers with candidates that can deliver that experience.

Maturelawyers is the new venture from Matureappointments.com which has developed a unique approach to executive and professional recruitment with matureaccountants.com, the award winning web site which was set up by Chartered Accountant Martin Lloyd-Penny in 2005. Martin had discovered at first hand that:

  • It can be tough if you fall off the corporate ladder, whatever your age and experience.
  • Being over 50 and out of work is NOT a good combination!
  • Experienced candidates can and do offer something EXTRA.
  • Many recruitment agencies fail to recognise the above!
  • Most of the recruitment consultants he met were somewhat younger than he was!

So what do experienced lawyers offer?

  • Expertise in their chosen field combined with common sense and high business acumen
  • They can hit the ground running and need little training or supervision
  • They work equally well in teams or alone
  • They've seen it all before and are not easily fazed by new or difficult situations
  • Stability

Mature Workers bridge the skills gap
I read with great interest today that UK entrepreneurs are increasingly relying on older workers to plug skills shortages in their businesses, according to figures released by entrepreneur think tank, the Tenon Forum.Nearly half (45 per cent) of UK owner-managers are concerned about skills shortages and many claim younger recruits are often just not up to the job. Many entrepreneurs are now looking to the previously untapped potential of older workers to plug the gap, with two thirds (66 per cent) of SME leaders agreeing that the employment of workers aged 50 plus is a good solution to skills shortages. And more than a fifth (22 per cent) of entrepreneurial businesses actually favour the hiring of older workers over college leavers as a solution to staffing problems.
